We would like to invite you to experience church membership in a brand new way – membership intentionally designed to equip you with tools and a framework for personal spiritual growth.
Sojourners Community Church acknowledges that every person in this world is on a spiritual journey (Genesis 24:42). This is an inward journey that happens as we seek inner transformation and ask deeper questions of ourselves to discover the kind of people we want to become (Romans 6:4-11). It is also an outward journey that happens as we search for how we can uniquely contribute and make a daily difference in the world we live in (Matthew 28:18-20). This journey can be traveled alone or with a small group of friends who can give encouragement, discussion, support and challenge.
We as a church community are committed with God in joining and traveling with each other on this journey (Hebrews 10:24-25). We do not know how long or how far we will journey together, but we value the decision to travel together as God leads. We are dedicated as a church community to helping, equipping and loving each other along this journey (Ephesians 4:11-13).
As a community we covenant together. We as the church are committed to teaching one another the Bible as God’s Word to all and to be and do everything that Jesus said. We do this by presenting a vision of God’s goodness and life in God’s kingdom, expecting intention on the part of those who commit to be Jesus’ disciples (apprentices), and equipping them in the means or methods that will help them to live a transformed life. The means are not the end in themselves rather there merely practices we engage in alone and together to partner with God in our Spiritual Transformation. Those who commit to this covenant are committed to living in this abundant life.
