Sojourners Community Church longs to be a community where our attitudes, actions, and responses begin to more naturally, supernaturally, and transparently reveal God. This is an active, ongoing process of a person that we call a “Sojourner.” The Sojourner’s life is that of an apprentice, who has a vision of what it means to be a follower, that is learning to live and love like Jesus by being restored to relationship with God, by loving others in community, and serving both locally and globally as a witness to the Good News of the reign of God.  We practice being RESTORED through gathering together for worship and prayer.  We practice LOVING one another in community when we meet in small groups to encourage one another, offer hospitality, and bear one another’s burdens.  We practice SERVING by living out God’s love Sunday through Saturday, as we believe actions speak louder than words.

Visit our Ministries page for practical ways that we at Sojourners Community Church work to cultivate intimacy with God and live in a healthy rhythm of being restored by God, loving others, and serving the world.  These are not steps or answers, but rather opportunities for transformation to take place.  These opportunities will constantly be added to and updated, as the practical ways for formation to take place is inexhaustible.

The Meaning of Our Name:

Sojourners Community Church

The reason why this name was chosen is because of what it means to us. A "sojourner" is a person who stays in a place for a temporary period of time. As followers of Jesus Christ, we know that our eventual home is not this earth (at least, not until it has been renewed by God) but that while we are here, we have the opportunity to make a great impact during our temporary stay.

The word “community” is there because we value relational connection. Our goal as a church is to connect you to God, to others, and to the world around you; a world that needs your help.

And “church” because we believe that the church is God’s chosen instrument to turn things around, to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. In the end, the church is the people, and we aim to be disciples of Jesus Christ, loving one another, and serving the world around us.
